“Salomon Comet 3D GTX Boot Review by JstRoll Media. Are these a filmmakers best friend? no but they do rather well at helping your feet.”
To Start of with these boots are awesome! I use them to walk the dog, filming in rain, woods, beaches, town and day to day jobs.
I got these boots a while ago and I’ve not really done any maintenance on them apart from a harsh brush and water to make them shine.
I bought the Salmon Comet 3D GTX Boots because they are light, flexible, rugged, comfy like a shoe and warm in on colder days, plus looking epic. These boots looked ideal for my life and job of being a filmmaker/photographer. My jobs change and you don’t always know whats around the conner. For example this year I’ve been filming for the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere. This entailed filming outdoor activities in a range of locations like Hill walking, mountain biking at Kirroughtree forest, Canoeing at Glentrool, cliff jumping on the south West Coast of Scotland etc etc…
These beautiful locations where not always accessible easily. We had to walk down steep muddy embankments film on beaches and dark rough woodland. Anyways the Salmon Boots handled all I through at them and how! so comfy, warm and great grip. These boots have been covered in water and not leaked at all. Really waterproof and I’ve not had to spray anything on them to regain any of that.
Walking up and down the muddy, rocky and steep bits was a challenge especially with a heavy camera bag. Saying that the boots really did a great job. I was sure footed most of the time and I could really trust the boots to work through the day in all types of weather conditions. They are great and I would not hesitate to buy them again.
